Major Selection Structure

Diverse Major Selection Structure

All students admitted without a declared major choose their majors after completing their first year.

When selecting a major, they may consider the following options.

80Interdisciplinary Majors

An interdisciplinary major, commonly referred to as a “pure major,” means that both the first and second majors are chosen within the same academic department.

(Example: Selecting Computer Engineering as the first major and Electronic Engineering as the second major within the School of Computer and Electronic Engineering)

Double Major

Unlike an interdisciplinary major, a double major consists of a first and second major from different academic department.

(Example: Choosing Computer Engineering from the School of Computer and Electronic Engineering as the first major and Korean Law from the School of Law as the second major)

80Single Major

This refers to selecting either the Life Science major (66 credits) in the School of Life Sciences or an ABEEK-accredited engineering major in the School of Computer and Electronic Engineering.

(Example: Choosing the AI·Computer Engineering major within the School of Computer and Electronic Engineering)

Notes

  • In the composition of graduation credits, the liberal arts requirements are the same for both interdisciplinary majors and double majors, but they differ for intensive majors. Therefore, it is important to clearly understand and be aware of the composition of graduation credits, as this plays a crucial role in academic life.
